Szabadság Square is just a few-minutes' walk south east of the Hungarian Parliament which you can see in the background. Grandiose buildings of high architectural value flank the square: the art-nouveau National Bank, the US Embassy, the building of Hungarian Television. At the front of the pic is the Soviet War Memorial, which is surrounded by a nice park popular with dog-walkers and 2 playgrounds for kids. You can have lunch in the park sitting on a bench from spring until autumn, and there is also a cafe situated right in the centre of the park.
